Another Day Poem by Phil Mason

Another Day

Rating: 4.0

ANOTHER DAY

Almost every morning since you vanished into my memories
I hear again from you...
it is meaningful, warm, and
comforting.

I yearn to hold you closer
than the words on this page
Will allow.
Will I ever see you again?
Will I ever hold you again?
Will our lips ever meet again?
Will I ever feel you next to me
Breathing

Slowly and painfully
I am ripping this bandaid off my heart and soul.
I'll survive
but you've gotten inside my very being
in ways I would have never thought
possible.

How does this happen
when so much of our brief few moments
together
should never have come to pass?

This is a powerful poem of separation and longing. I think it is very well done. I especially like the phrase: since you vanished into my memories

Thank you again! I've seen your name here before. Is it your job to boost the egos of flightless itinerant poets? Works for me.....😁
