Another Existence Poem by Dorsey Baker

Another Existence

It hovered over my head
as my body burned in seduction
It hovered over my head
as the ocean spit and its belly rumbled
It hovered over my head
as dead bodies whispered to their graves
It hovered over my head
as courage defeated its purpose in being
totally in charge
It hovered over my head
and I heard naked
branches of trees laugh loudly at themselves
It hovered over my head
as foolishness was wise enough
to imprison itself within its own prison
