Another Man Poem by Randy McClave

Another Man

I held her arm to help her stand
To which I believe destiny had planned,
Pity from me she then quickly did claim
She didn't have a penny to her name.
She had not a career or even a job
And of course I didn't want her to take or rob,
So, I helped her out whenever that I could
As a true Christian always should.
She told me how her boyfriend abused her
And his exes instead of her he would prefer,
And his favorite deed and easiest route
Was to always help someone else instead of her out.
I instead treated her like a Queen
To her I was never judgmental, uncaring or mean,
I don't smoke or drink or swear or curse
And I have never went through a woman's wallet or purse.
She told me that she was divorced
Because, being a couple was not ever being enforced,
So, she lives with whoever that she can
Another month, maybe another man.
She has been around the block many, many times
And God only knows of her indiscretions and crimes,
One day sadly I know that she might get cancer
Maybe, that will be Karma's revenge as an answer.
She enjoys being with men who will treat her bad
As though her existence for living is to make a man glad,
And one more fact and an honest brag worthy certainty
She'll never find another man like me.
