Another Year Approaches Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

Another Year Approaches

Another new year's approaching fast,
I wonder, what it may hold?
Maybe win the lottery?
Buy rings of shining gold.

Will i keep to my promise,
of shedding these unwanted pounds?
Learn to keep my cakehole shut,
temptation is profound.

What's around the corner?
That i do not know,
Will all the dreams I've dreamed of,
Decide to make their show?

Life is what you make it,
Only i can ensure,
What each day may hold in store,
Determination is the cure.

Whatever's about to happen,
Never mind about the wealth,
As long as I'm surviving,
To hold on to my health.
