Answered Prayers Poem by Ronald Chapman

Answered Prayers

Answered Prayers

Much time has passed, since you and
I stood at the altar of eternal love when we made the promise,
to hold on to our dreams.

That sad day you were taken from me,
gently holding you in my arms,
God brought you home.

Unable to follow you,
I said goodbye, but only for a short time.
Just seeing your beautiful Soul in dreams was my answered prayer.

I could not hold another Soul in my arms,
without memories of making love with you returning,
from long ago.

I know God will soon answer my prayers.

To let me leave this place,
not much longer to wait,
to hold your spirit again in Heaven will be my answered prayer.
