Antidepressants Poem by Sebastian Melmoth

Antidepressants

Time to get medicated doctor said
Trapped in anxieties cell
Blocked in a mental health hell

1million piece jigsaw puzzle of my body and mind
Matching the pieces together desperately seeking to be whole
My Doctor prescribing away for access to this emotional wonder pill.

Not over the counter not for the faint hearted
Inhibitor contributors
Euphoria packaged neatly in a box

Self-help not working
Low mood sunset rising
Chemical support effects surprising

Amazing changes people will see
Substances saving me from depressions grip
One daily gulp to happiness

Chemical enhancement
Negativities suppression
Was it the right decision in the end?

Will I just become another addicted fool?
This tablet with a term of friendship undefined
Will there be a day we part and go our separate ways, will there be a day I become me again.
