Aphrodite's Flower the Sweet Violet (Viola Odorata) Poem by john (called jack) wren

Aphrodite's Flower the Sweet Violet (Viola Odorata)

Your dainty puffed up cheeks
blow out fragrance from within
sending my nose in turmoil
and my head in a spin.

You blow dark clouds away
to please a smiling sun
who, bathes your face in sunshine
that starts the bees to hum.

Even your name Sweet Violet
drops with candour from the tongue
may God bless Aphrodite's flower
may your praises always be sung.
