Apologies Poem by Monica Melissano

Apologies

Rating: 5.0

Sorry people
if I keep declining your invites
sorry if I do not feel
like wearing a mask
and coming into the streets
to speak about the more and the less
just to spend my time.
My heart is still rolling on a train
towards atlantic waves
my soul is smashed
to the ice of the Baltic
So sorry if I spend a saturday night
between these walls
I'm learning to have my sadness dear
'cause is all I have left from my happiness,
I'm taking lessons
to swim in it, deep dive, to do some snorkelling too.
So maybe I won't drown in it.

Wow! An amazing and heartfelt poem. Melancholic and sad, it sounds. Imagery is superb! You have a delicate way with words and meanings, I love it! ! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
