Apprehension Emancipation Poem by Joseph Blitch

Apprehension Emancipation

Shoes off, I plopped into my preferential seat,
Upon the ottoman, I propped my fatigued feet.
As I rested on the settee from my afternoon run,
Through the window's pane was cast a ray of sun.

I began to meditate in the serene, calming quite,
Then my mind focused on one magnificent sight.
Outside elegant flowers, as if adorned for a ball,
Wind swayed, danced as silhouettes on my wall.

Particles of dust joyfully played in the sun's ray,
Seeming so thankful for this bright sunny day.
I was so amazed at the truly captivating show,
So relaxing, my body’s composure would grow.

Apprehension from my life form began to leave,
Conflicting emotions no more wore on my sleeve.
This simple pleasure lessened my minds worry,
To the performance’s creator goes all the glory.

Thrilled, He pointed out simplicity for me to see,
Such a magnificent conductor, Who could this be?
The extraordinary JAH, The one and only God,
Held in His hand, Through this world I now trod!
