Ode' To Cocoa Poem by Joseph Blitch

Ode' To Cocoa

Cocoa, your powdery richness is beyond compare;
In so many different ways my love you will share;
Fine ground powder; silk velvetiness; hued brown;
Oh! Many ways I love thee; Your royalty I crown;

You bring refreshing health to my body; very tired;
A better health aid; one could have never acquired;
In winters harsh blizzards; Winds blowing so cold;
Cocoa with sweetener in hot milk warms this soul;

In cold milk; you are such a rich chocolate brown;
For a cool summer's refreshment; best I've found;
Having it on the side, or just making it a full meal;
For the summers heat; No better pick-me-up I feel;

Cocoa, butter, sugar, milk and heat; Chocolate neat;
You seem to be able to cover everything with sweet;
Turning fruits and vegetables into one fantastic treat;
Which no one seems to be able to resist; all must eat;

It makes no difference as to what masterpiece you are;
For the contentment you shall bring I would travel far;
To have you for my own; I would surely walk a mile;
In so many ways; from the depth of soul; a big smile!
