Appropriate For School - Poem by Ray Mesa

I voted for John F. Kennedy
Any Beatles tune is my favorite medley
I’m not scared of dieing
You’ll never see me crying
My lips never lie
My chest never bleeds
I love my life
The earth is my seed

But golly, how I want to be
Something free
Chainless and Just me
Standing up instead of on my knees

Your daddy’s stuck in the closest
Your mother is so modest
Your brother is in a war
Your sister’s a whore

There is no fine line
No appropriateness
The day is gone the time has come
To forget bliss and receive acceptances
