Don't you just love aprons?
I've made them myself, you know
Some aprons are very fancy
Pretty much just for show
But most of them, my friends
Were useful in the kitchen
Some women rarely took them off
Way too many uses to mention
They kept a lady's dress clean
As she spent the day at the stove
Or for her daily scrubbing
As around the house she'd rove
When rollin' out dough, of course
The flour was all over the place
So an apron would protect her dress
So she wouldn't become a disgrace
Well, here at Spanish Cove
All the ladies gathered ‘round
And brought forth their aprons
All that could be found
We truly enjoyed the exhibit
It made an entertaining day
Brilliant colors and designs
Lots of talent too, I might say
Oh, and let's not forget
That men wear aprons too
Many professions require them
To cover them up too, it's true
So why don't we honor the apron?
Been around since the early days
I know you'd love to see
Our aprons on display!
