April 19th Remembrance Poem by Marilyn Lott

April 19th Remembrance

Rating: 5.0

It was on April 19th in Oklahoma City
There was a horrible tragedy
A memorial for those who lost their lives
Was created for the world to see

I have seen this beautiful memorial
It brings tears to my eyes even now
Those people truly died in vain
We all pray for them and make a vow

We vow to never let their memories die
We will keep thoughts of them alive
Forever we can promise this
It’s a direction in which we strive

The lovely flowers, heartfelt notes
Folks continue to leave behind
We hope for those who loved them
Some comfort they will find

We cannot change the past, of course
We can only plan for a new direction
To make life as safe as we can
For the younger generation!
