Arguing For Life Poem by james watkin

Arguing For Life

To not so greatly pleasure in life
Nor gloat, too celebratory;
Besides avoiding a wine's headache
After-effects of strong memory!

Yet let me raise up in the present
What of its toast is demanded.
Knowing will be, that glass, wished re-filled;
The youth-asked; age-unhanded.

For when, friendless, unwarmed in lone place
Sitting numbly in that morrow
Lack I wont, what I would otherwise
Of welcome laughter; to echo.
