Arms Of The Creep Poem by Kevin Dion

Arms Of The Creep

I'm in love with a girl that's addicted to the past.

She a crazy wild thing that can't let go of her last.

Just when I think she is mine to keep.

She goes straight back to the arms of the creep.

Hold on, wait a second, this doesn't seem right.

I remember you saying how much you hated him that night.

The guy about two cents cheaper than a pile of glue.

Treats the dirt better than he does her too.

He likes reminding her of all the girls he's been with.

While she sits alone up in her room holding a fifth.

Calling me up, late at night on the phone.

You always telling me how one day your name will be known.

It's a three way love triangle; he, she, and I.

Light me up like the fourth of July.

Like a pirate, I've found my treasure, and I'm not letting go of this crate.

Walk you to the door after our first date.

Ending with a kiss on the lips, and a whisper in my ear goodbye.

Now I'm driving home looking up smiling at the sky.

Just when I think she is mine to keep.

She goes straight back to the arms of the creep.
