Art Lover Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Art Lover

Rating: 5.0

I watch you
flit about the house

(a human butterfly)

in my MAMBO shirt
luridly colourful

wearing basically
a mad crazy painting

as if you were
a walking gallery.

The word MAMBO
in glorious calligraphy

splashed across your little arse

& now
you bend

to remove
a fallen object

where it lies forlorn
upon the ground

revealing
(oh holy of Holies)

the naked beauty
of you

in all its
glory.

I genuflect
before such splendour

(you my
epiphany)

take you
upon the tip

of
my tongue

holy as
a blessed sacrament

your gentle nakedness

the pinnacle of all
art.
