you were one of my few supporters
in writing as opposed to many who believed
my writing poetry was irresponsible,
NZ is a sport crazy not an artistic nation,
perhaps eventually the country will
embrace expanded artist artistic horizons,
with a little passion like love expended on sports
intense love for sports is parent peers taught;
submission devotion worship of artistic passions
develops in mature seasoned cultural countries
colonial poverty shoots first embrace rough games;
testing break in land effort toil survival muscles
leisure luxuary is art mind no time passion pursuits;
process individual artists time hatch fly on strong wings
migrations climax in muscle mental cultural stages;
