As Hunger Reigns Poem by Donal Mahoney

As Hunger Reigns

Day and night preachers hawk
the Message of the Cross
on television.

Once a month they pause
and beg for money for
bibles they hand out

to the poor in nations
where hunger reigns and
good water's hard to find.

The poor will sit and listen to
the Message of the Cross but
they pray for food and water.

Wow! A case study of African preachers and beggars. Nice poem.
