Time passes,
And life shifts,
But I stay mostly the same,
Only with an increasing certainty
That I will never change.
That to obtain that dream life,
I would need to be, not me.
So I accept these dreams for what they are,
Little flights of fancy,
Keeping me company,
As I make my way along,
While time passes,
And life shifts,
And I stay,
As I'm meant to be.
