Wonder Poem by Astra N.

Wonder

Rating: 5.0

I wish you,
An everlasting sense of wonder,
And endless delight,
In the discovery of new things.
Little sparks of fuel,
To keep you going,
Wanting to see what comes next.
Because it might be something good,
It just might be,
This time.
Something that opens your eyes,
To a new dimension of life.
A colour you never knew existed,
That you want to wrap yourself in.
A flavour so exquisite,
It's seared into your soul.
A touch soft and warm,
That leaves you with longing.
You want more.
There must be more,
For you.

But even with all my wishing,
I can't banish the quiet times in between,
When no sparks are lit,
And you're adrift what seems like forever,
Without purpose,
And you keep wondering,
Why am I even here?
In these moments,
Though you are strong,
You must be stronger still,
To keep your gaze away,
From the darkness in the corner.
A seemingly peaceful emptiness,
Beckoning, grasping,
Draining.

It's okay to be still for a while,
To just be you,
With all you have loved,
And all you have learned.
Immerse yourself in all that experience.
And now do you see,
How full of wonder,
You always are?
