As I Grow Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I am really optimistic and very bold
It doesn’t upset me even if I grow old
I knew it well the utility of gold
What price it will fetch when sold?

I preserved the youth for coming days
It was only possible for future days
The days were passing off like river flow
It couldn’t be stopped even if I wanted not to grow

It is natural process and may take its own course
I need not worry about it of course
It may have its ups and down
I shall not dream of wearing the crown

I may venture into open sky
There is no question of asking why
It may not be good attempt or worth try
You should go for it and not feel shy

There may be some unreasonable way out
Short cuts in life and running about
Never feel sorry for what you are so sure
Keep well informed within and assure

All days are golden and very bright
There has to be no suspicion to fight
They must be corrected for its righteous direction
You have then no remorse for any action

When you sit back and think of the past
The memorable moments must emerge and last
You should have least worry for doubts to cast
As the days have moved like light and very fast

It may still be like fraction of seconds
The list of foes may be more than friends
You still survived the onslaught of time
You did excellent job without committing any crime
