As If Dead Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

As If Dead

Rating: 2.8

He was really scared outwardly
Even though he used to speak very bravely
“Life is to be spent with no haste”
I found all his words as waste

He was intimate and very close friend
We used to remain in office till day end
He may come out with simple jokes
We were really happy with powerful strokes

Days wait for none and take heavy toll
We too advanced with age and made final call
We were given traditional send off
The day was witnessed with last laugh

The friend was very much jolly
Some how I found him not happy fully
Even though he had no financial worries
But something was carried with him

We were spending several hours together
He may drop in with stories altogether
I knew he was enlightening with heavy heart
I too sided with him to make him feel light

“He has been paralyzed” wife passed on the message
The reason for this stroke was not solely an age
He could not omit it to friends till end
If felt so bad about him and internally as if dead
