As If You Are Not In Any Way Mine (English Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

As If You Are Not In Any Way Mine (English Sonnet)

I loved you as long as I do you know
and where you do put our marriage on hold,
you shattered me more than six months ago,
where you acted towards me icy cold,

bad you treated me like never before.
I wish never to hear such words again,
where now I speak with true feelings much more
that you are bringing me recklessly pain,

think with people around I am not lonesome.
Our relationship and marriage you deny,
you think that it is your right and wholesome,
for months faltered without a reply,

if I do not understand it's really fine,
as if you are not in any way mine.
