As My Tattoos Fade Away. Poem by Steve Caine

As My Tattoos Fade Away.

As my Tattoos Fade Away.

I look back, on all these years,
I won't see tomorrow, as my Tattoos Fade away.
I lay, here alone, with my thoughts, they are borrowed,
As my tattoos fade away.

As the ink - runs - dry, with all my stories,
I can't find words to say.
And in my mind, tales of love and glory,
Of me back in the day.

What can I say, my mind returns, to roads I've followed,
As my tattoos fade away.
You stand holding hands, reading words, in leather sorrows,
As my tattoos fade away.

You know I will ride, in your tomorrows,
My thoughts rolled up with you,
With oil in our hair hearts and stone,
and in the rides and wind that follows
You'll know what to do.

In time replayed, in all these years, you were with me,
As my tattoos want to say,
Live life, and ride fast, …… like bandidos,
As my tattoos fade away…..
