As She Drifts Away Poem by Andrea Lynn

As She Drifts Away

Rating: 5.0

She lies so softly breathing
Will she awaken again?
counting the minutes and hours
that we might have left to spend

Accepting that the time is coming
Praying it will be swift for her
even though wishing so
means our time will be over

She who has given life
Helped me find my wings
Molded me to be who I am
Now lies far away in her musings

She is everything to me
One I will always remember
as a mother, a friend and confidant
may they someday find a cure.
