As The Light Goes Out Poem by Hannah Elizabeth Barton

As The Light Goes Out

Rating: 4.5

You were a light to the world
Shining, radiating so bright
Such pureness, such love
Oh how I'm ashamed
We none saw the demons
Not until you were lain
Down as your lifeless body sat
We none knew any of that
We didn't know your struggles
We didn't know your pain
I'm sorry you had to leave
In order for the pain to go away
As a farewell my friend
And until next time
We all care if one more light goes out
In a sky of a million stars
