As Things Will Be Poem by Doris Cornago

As Things Will Be

Rating: 5.0

Let me stumble, but please don't let me fall
Funny thing but whenever we tussle
You don't show much muscle
Begging me, please
Not in the
Morning
But
Later
Settled
Breakfasted
Having thought
Through the facts
With much patience
Using diplomacy, told
Me Utopia would be ideal
And I said, nah, too placid
I like to tussle or not at all
Life will be boring as things will be
Predictably the same, day in and day out

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I like my life filled with down-to-earth conversations. I also like poeming or poetic jousts. I don't take myself seriously at times and when I go off the grid for long periods, there's something I need to tackle by myself. Although I like the idea of Utopia, I know I don't belong there as I thrive best in a push-and-pull relationship; I can match you whether you push me or pull me. I am flexible and pragmatic. If a belief is found to bring success, joy, happiness, and fulfillment after a time, this belief should be considered a true one. Having described myself I believe that similarly inclined species would be drawn to me. This poem is a testimony.

Yes, Edward, the fact is I like being here and having a verbal tussle. Thank you for the visit and sharing a cup of coffee/tea with me. Looking forward to more visits. :)

We all have our weakness which becomes our strength with someone's help. Thank you for the affirmation and the high rating. Both will serve as my beacon for sharing more poems. :)

A poetic joust is when I give you four lines of a poem for a topic, you answer me with four lines, continuing the poem, and so on, back and forth, until one of us runs out of words to answer back. This is done by rappers and sometimes as parlor games, using songs instead of poems, spontaneously, in a friendly spirit. The product is what we call an anaconda poem for the length of of it.
