As We Age, We Grow Poem by Julian Takali

As We Age, We Grow

Rating: 5.0

Time floods our skin, knowledge manifests to wrinkles
Attention turns from tangibles to symbols
Friends peter out one after the other
Some in free will, some by hate smothered
From wild wishes to wisdom at heart
No more water from the fountain of youth
No more strength beyond fantasy
Now is time for medicine and aches
For taking your time
For loving your wife
For making sense of it all
Now is the unavoidable
This is the end

An insightful piece of poetry, well articulated and nicely brought forth with conviction. As we age, sagacity improves as we head towards the inevitable. Thanks for sharing Julian and do remain enriched.
