if you would care to ask how I am feeling
I might watch the eyes reply inward smiling
I feel a slight touch of poetry coming on
it might keep me in the house in a room for a while
not laughing talking smiling or listening
just typing writing up a poem or two writing
unlike the flu which might leave you
in a bed resting fast asleep sleeping
a touch of poetry will
keep you in a chair writing
words words might slow
come or fast fast typing
if a poet is ever to be read
first must come write write writing
