The voice of my Lord is clear
The tone audible in my heart
His distinct prodding obvious
But the pathway a shuddering
The sight a-recoil to my heart
A dark dreary wilderness trail

Faith tightens His hold on me
Steadies, assures my footsteps
Hope softens my unwillingness
A joyful symphony plays within
My being, the melody uplifting
My spirit rises, my soul rejoins

My heart unfastens and expands
And welcomes My Lord’s leading
The path still dreary, still unclear,
But He leads and guides me along
The path He’s Chosen for my growth
And I am content to walk with Him
