Assyrian God Nabu: Becomes Babylonian God Of Wisdom Poem by Terence George Craddock

Assyrian God Nabu: Becomes Babylonian God Of Wisdom

Nabu god of literacy
ancient power scriptology
communication accuracy

Assyrian god Nabu
West Semitic deity
worshipped in Elba

behold your cult
spreading throughout
Mesopotamia Nabu

becomes Babylonians
god of wisdom writing
Nabu Assyrian jumping

planet Mercury
messenger of gods
Nabu keeper of Tablets

Tablets of Destiny
which recorded
the fate of mankind

Nabu his symbols
are the clay tablet
the writing stylus

Nabu scribes wisdom
stylus resting on a tablet
cuneiform wedge shapes

Nabu god of essential vegetation
inscribes fates assigned to men
waxing waning moon cycles

Nabu wears a horned
cap stands with hands clasped
ancient gesture of priesthood

Nabu rides winged
dragon Sirrush which belonged
to his father Marduk
