At burn'd skin of the Chinar leaves I stare;
once green silk - now, golden brown remains;
They are fallen ‐ but there mother strong,
She is no less determined than she was
In the past spring and summer,
She claims to rise again through the winter
Love Her, she is your mother, though in chains,
when we're abused, our veins are slit,
She bathes us in Her tears to wash our stains
Through the burning summer, she provides us cool embrace;
How many more of her leaves, in autumn, will be burnt
under her eyes, how much tyranny She'll bear?
