At Central Park Poem by Randy McClave

At Central Park

Whenever I wanna walk or jog or run
Underneath the clouds or the sun,
Under the moon and the stars in the dark
I always go to Central Park.
It is where I can think and reason
No matter of the time or the season,
When I walk and think there is no legislature
At that one moment it's just me and nature.
I enjoy the trees and the pond
The beauty that nature had spawned,
And I enjoy my trek my venture in solitude
As nature's beauty I viewed.
I pass the pickleball and the basketball courts
Which the many supports,
And I pass the baseball and the soccer fields
Where children it yields.
The park I know invites us one and all
In Winter, Spring, Summer and fall,
And as I jog or run or walk
Many times to God in serenity I am happy to talk.
I feel the heat and I also feel the breeze
I see the squirrels and the birds in the trees,
Mother Nature is always there
You can always feel her presence in the air.
Whenever I walk I always see a happy face
As nature they too also embrace,
Maybe they are there to contemplate or relax
As they follow different tracks.
Whenever I need to exercise, think or write
Either during the daytime or at night,
Whenever from worries and stress I need to embark
I then go to Central Park.
