As I sat on the church's pew
During church service this Sunday with the best view,
As the Pastor's sermon he began to preach
Then with his message each soul he tries to reach.
From his religious tale
The Pastor told me, that I was going to Hell,
Entering into Heaven my soul God did reject
Because, he says I'm not one of the chosen elect.
I thought to myself should I close my Bible and grieve
With sin and guilt should I walk out and leave,
But, instead I decided to stay
As unto the Lord a forgiveness prayer I did pray.
The Pastor told the congregation that the Bible is a love letter written
To Hell, the Lord wants no one's soul smitten,
God has not predestined anyone's salvation
He hopes all souls are saved from every nation.
Then when the Pastor's preaching ended
He then tells me, he hopes that I wasn't offended,
He said that I was the first person to inspire that he did see
That's odd, because his mother and wife was sitting near me.
