At Pain Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

At Pain

Rating: 5.0

I am at pain to learn the outburst
It is unusual reaction from friend at first
I always tease her to spoil her mood
It has become now my habit and serves as food

I can’t remain at peace without provoking
Sometimes I may blow the air while smoking
This will infuriate her further and she may rush for kicking
I may possible bend down or prefer ducking

I don’t know but somehow I am her very good friend
I feel no remorse at the beginning or at the end
It is my way expressing strong attachment
She may all the way disagree and resent

She is very fond of receiving praise at some point of times
She expects it from me to come at given times
I disagree to such an unwanted gesture
How c can I please her when I am not at all sure?

She is teacher and very good at use of language
She may unnecessarily argue and actively engage
She may try to overemphasize without any point
She was in my opinion page without print

I tried to prove my point through innocent jokes
I was encountering hostile reaction without having any stakes
She was of course learned teacher but lacked a sense and brain
All y efforts were proving fruitless and going into drain

She may outburst with provocative use
I was determined to avoid its misuse
There was meeting point in our approach
It definitely lacked insight but I still poked

She was loosing patience and hell bent upon creating uproar
I too was equally harassing her with all unpleasant thing s to bear
It was her style of retaliation which was causing me little concern
I was helpless but suffering from bad friendship in turn

It might be happening with all but in different style
It may not be concerning them at all for while
We had cat and rat type relation
To stay from it was out of question

I don’t know how to appreciate her wishes
Where to oblige her and where to finish?
It may still augur well with our strong bond
We may live with love as fishes live in pond

We may have limited goal or nothing to expose
The main thing remains to be seen is how best we repose?
It may be nice if we remain tolerant to each other
It may bring us closer and never bother
