Atheist, Maybe? Poem by Rachel Henley

Atheist, Maybe?

Rating: 4.5

I often wonder,
if my last ever words,
in the form of speech, of course.
Would be a plea to a god or gods,
to forgive me of my lack of belief.

For I cannot believe,
for what I cannot see,
Sure, I know faith is all about faith.

But isn't being god all about being god?

I see, hunger, poverty, death and war,
but I see no god to pick up the tab.

The sooner we start to stop worshipping stars,
is the second we live and survive below them.

I agree with you. Interesting sentiments and put in an equally interesting way. Love the last two lines especially!
