Attacks By A Narcissist And Constant Gaslighting Poem by James McLain

Attacks By A Narcissist And Constant Gaslighting

they come with mirrors,
not to see themselves,
but to make you disappear.

you say the sky is blue,
they say it never was.
you say you're tired,
they say that you have slept.
you say they hurt you,
they say you begged for it.

they bend reality like Einstein,
grinning as you doubt your own memories,
your own breath,
your own name.

by the time you crawl away,
you aren't sure if you were ever whole,
or just another reflection
in their life of broken mirrors.
