Auditorium Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

Auditorium

Any day in the year
you find:
crowds throng the auditorium
morning or night
dozens of deluxe cars at the gate
traffic jam in the road
any function it can host
be it marriage or any meeting
birthday party or conference
prayer marks the beginning
enlightened minds make their presence
communal harmony in place
men and women grace the hall
with mind-blowing attire and jewellery
hypnotic charms and body odorants
cameramen adding delight
countless marriage solemnised
clappings echo any inauguration
with all sacred functions taking place
an auditorium is next to place of worship
without any idol
and it pervades the algorithm of peace.
