Australian Songbirds Poem by Paul Warren

Australian Songbirds

Rating: 5.0

Shady summer days with an AM radio playing
Soundtracks of our youth dancing and swaying
The Seekers of the Sixties heard
With Judith Durham voice as our preferred

When the Seventies and Eighties came
Grease was the film with Olivia the flame
And many girls singing with her
In their bedrooms a hairbrush microphone did occur

Our songbirds of Australian fame
You only had to mention their names
Judith Durham and our Olivia Newton-John
Are for the ages now in heavenly singalong.
