Autistic Child Poem by Katrina Hodge

Autistic Child

Rating: 5.0

The best word for autism is frustration.
That for most is an Exclamation.
I am a child just like you,
I like to play with toys too.
Autism is not catchy as some people think,
I can not give it to you, even if we share a drink.
I cannot say all I wish to say,
My words are garbled even when I pray.
Not even my Mother can understand all,
The frustration makes me want to bang my head on a wall.
There is only one who understands,
My life and soul are in his hands.
Thank you God and Heaven above,
For my Mother's unconditional love.

Really an insightful rendition written with clarity of thought and mind. Well conceived and elegantly brought forth. Thanks for sharing Katrina.

As the mum of an autistic daughter, this speaks volumes. Lizzy.x
