Autumn Leaves Poem by Jane Cai

Autumn Leaves

Rating: 3.0

Can I keep you in gold or red
As fresh and deep when you smile in the sunshine
If not on picture or painting
But put into an envelope
And keep you smell the same
Like sweet breeze gently kissing my mind

Carried on the tenderness and blooming of spring
Passed through the thickness and flourishing of summer
Now you are dressed up with the richness and gorgeousness
To eulogize the beautiful color and flavor of this autumn
To soften the coldness and freezing of the coming winter
To breed another round of growth and sublimation

But are you ready
If the winter comes very soon to fall you down
To embed you deep below the ground
And leave you alone in despair

Or are you satisfied
With your whole but limited life in this garden
If the spring no more pays a visit
To feed you with any nutrition as you expect
