Autumn Thought Poem by Jay P Narain

Autumn Thought

The season is changing,
the spine is tingling,
the night chill gets me shivering,
the early morning fog keeps my thoughts wandering.

The quiet and silence in the cold air,
reminds birds to get ready and fly to warmer air,
The caterpillars who flourished all summer on the pine trees,
Are getting wings to fly away as beautiful butterflies somewhere.

The leaves on the trees are trembling in fear,
they would not give up without looking their best in colors,
the leaves lie trampled and helpless on the ground,
hoping to get resurrected by the incoming rain and snow in time.

My wandering thoughts ponder for a while,
Is this the season of awakening from the troubles all around?
May be autumn is the season of resurrection,
With hope of achieving perfection in time somewhere.
