Awaken, My Soul Poem by Jeremy Deacon

Awaken, My Soul

Rating: 5.0

Oh my soul, my soul, is awakened in this dark hour. Darkness and quivering fear of an uncontrollable depression has set upon thee. Anxiety of an unknown substance aches this beating heart exhaustively. May the longing of heaven be ever so constant to combat against this great oppression of a seemingly horrid life in human flesh! My God at times this soul seems so far from thy sovereign grip of assurance to live eternally with thee. May the promise of your word be ever so real to sustain me in my weakness! Transform this empty vessel to fill with wine so sweet removing the sour pungent filth that entraps me. Pour new wine to cover my soul so thirsty for your presence constantly upon me. Never leave me oh God for it is you alone that guides my footstep and brittle limbs to walk. Take me oh God this instant that I may see you in Your Glory so full. To be made complete and healed from disease and sin forever. Oh Kingdom of Heaven my soul belongs to thee. Until then my God our love remains faint for a short while the worlds apart. Take me in and forever be glorified with this soul that your sovereign hand created only to bring You Glory for eternity.
