Awakening - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Awakening - Lincoln Park Zoo

Being a black bear I sure do
Like a whole lot of napping time
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.
Throughout the night and the day I'm
All curled up in my bed of hay,
Taking the opportunity
For quiet time to nap away.
When I am awakened I be
Taking some time to shake off sleep,
And shake off hay pieces also.
My head does turn in gazing sweep
To get my bearings that I know.

I'm used to this same episode,
Going from nap to awake mode.
