My parents both age eighty two
Within the same week passed away.
To help my grieving I did do
A painting on a sunny day
Of Mom and Dad as they walked down,
Their arms embracing each other,
The Main Street of our home town,
Joy being with one another.
I painted them as though they were
Walking just steps ahead of me,
And then a wonder did occur,
They stopped and turned for me to see.
They waved to me, both Mom and Dad.
Suddenly I was not so sad.
Such a heart warming poem about the healing power of art therapy and writing poetry. Ima, this is a beautiful tribute to your deceased parents.
