B(Urma) C(Hina) Poem by David Taylor

B(Urma) C(Hina)

Rating: 5.0

Why so many lives swept and crushed
with walls of water moving across flat lands,
walls of buildings descending upon ground
that sways and shifts like grains of sand.
Why so many left behind to weep and cry:
Why?

Why did this happen two thousand and eight AD.
Did we forget,
did they deserve,
can we ever see
the reasons it was them,
not me?

And why do I feel distant, separated,
from their woe?
Even when deep inside my heart,
I know.

This is a powerful write, David. We see so many suffering around the world, as well as at home, I think we sometimes tend to just turn it off, maybe in self-defense. At the least we should be more grateful for our own good fortune. Thanks, a great read. Richard

The tragedy can be a bitter pill to swallow, nature is always the stronger and can be devastating in its power. We have been destroying our planet little by little and are now reaping the consequences. I know just what you mean, one is with them yet apart from them. There is only so much the mind and heart can hold. You have explained it extremely well in this poem David, the feeling that we can do nothing to stop these occurrences. A great read. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
