Babies Birth A White Pearl Moment Poem by Terence George Craddock

Babies Birth A White Pearl Moment

each life is like a string of pearls
stretching moment to moment
measured in tiny heart beats time
stretching into future distant far
or near if illness tragedy lurk
each breath a white pearl moment
birth of baby is a string of white pearls
straight shucked from womb shell

cervix flesh raw umbilical cord cut tired
each precious pristine white pearl breath
life pulsating in renewal life celebration
loving arms wait to hold to comfort caress
first soft caress of air enfolds baby skin
skin washed cleaned protective wrapped
