Baby, You Save Me From Myself Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

Baby, You Save Me From Myself

When I feel something bubbling inside,
And ignore it for way too long,
Instead of dealing with the issue, that’s surfacing,
I pretend that it is not there, but it reverberates, like a gong..

It finally overwhelms me, and I succumb to the pain and fear
Lose all rationalization.
When I try to come to terms with the darkness,
I can’t control it… it envelopes me, like suffocation.

When I try to overcome, the way I feel inside,
And I lose control of my behavior.
You are always there, to save me, from myself,
You are my anchor, my angel, my savior.

Baby, you save me, and make me think.
You draw me out of myself.
I do not understand all this craziness,
And don’t know how to heal myself.

But baby, you save me, from myself,
And the utter devastation to which I fall.

I thank God for you, my anchor.
I thank God, for sending me an angel.
I thank God, for sending you to save me...
From the dark side of myself.
