Back From The Abyss Poem by Rhonda Baker

Back From The Abyss

Rating: 5.0

You look into my eyes to the core of my soul
Where I feel numb and nothing but an empty hull
Where my heart beats so slow, I'm barely alive
I've built so many walls, just to survive

You were unwavering, calling me back from the abyss
Reminding me of the future and all that I would miss
People make mistakes, everyone is afraid
Just remember right now, you're only half made

I have measure myself so carelessly... Oh the gall
The world doesn't have the same limits on me at all
Who knows what I could create with a simple touch
If minus all the fear, I could do so much

Maybe I could touch the world with my words and a song
Be a beacon of light, when the night seems too long
As a matter of fact you could do that too
It just takes a little faith and I've got that in you
