Background Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Background

The skin and the sound, I see-hear background
Tell me lots, softly rough, ring a bell to remind
Long ago on this earth, free beasts, living wild.
Birds flew; partridges, nightingales and parrots.
Water ran in the streams, not faucet or the pipe
I wonder how you looked; a woman of the time
I assume no shampoos, no shower, nor eye-line
Both of us in long hair, all curly and unwashed
Did you shave your legs' hair; and, elsewhere?
Hey do not call me drunk or oldie; ‘that dirty'.
Let us live as we did; such wild life, act nasty.
Let us go with no car or plane; no boom-boom.
Let us eat what is fresh; from tree and the bush
Let us be like monkey, our cousin; having lice
I will search for a bug in your hair you do mine.
We drink like a bear, without cup and no wine.
